Jan 30,2007

Quasi, the interactive animatronic robot developed by ETC students who then went on to create a for-profit company, IBI, based in Pittsburgh, is off to Miami, Florida, on Wednesday, to join the Super Bowl press corps. Quasi has been invited by ESPN to entertain at ESPN Magazine's NEXT Big Experience, the grandest Super Bowl Party ever staged featuring live music, interactive brand displays, elaborate food stations, street theatre and various competitions.

ESPN is spending over $1 million for the party which will feature over 30,000 celebrities, athletes, and paying public. The party kicks off on Friday night, February 2nd, from 7pm to 2 am in the Moore Building and occupies over two square blocks of the Miami Design District. Quasi is going to be on the press line on the red carpet interviewing celebrities as they pass by. Tickets for the event are pricing at $500 at most online ticket agencies.

Quasi’s appearance at ESPN’s Next Big Experience is being sponsored by the Carnegie Mellon Entertainment Technology Center.
