| | ETC-Global will be sending one of the largest groups of attendees to the GDC. Around 100 students, faculty and staff will be at this year's Game Developer's Conference. Almost every student in the program from all 3 of the global campuses will be attending in order to network with developers and learn about the industry. ETC is one of the only academic programs in the world that supports all enrolled students each year in attending professional conferences like GDC so that they can have these invaluable learning experiences. Students are able to attend 3 conferences before they graduate and GDC is the conference for those interested in the video game industries. On Wednesday (3/7) evening, the ETC will be hosting an invitation-only party at Biscuits & Blues in downtown San Francisco. The party is a chance for students, alumni, faculty and developers to relax together for a great evening of conversation, music, food and fun. ETC Faculty will also be presenting at GDC. John Buchanan, Director of ETC-Australia, will be speaking on the Game Sketching project work he's been advising. Jesse Schell will participate on two panels, one at the Serious Games Summit and another at the IGDA Education SIG Workshop. Drew Davidson, Director of ETC-Pittsburgh, is the chair of the Education Workshop and has worked with the SIG and academics and developers to create a two-day workshop focused on game development education. All in all, ETC-Global will have a huge presence at this year's GDC. |
