| On the 19th of June John Buchanan, and Greg Wieder accompanied the Game Sketch team to Sydney for a presentation at Google research. Tony Ortega and Albith Delgado were accompanied by Gina Chuang who is currently on a Co-op assignment at Rising Sun Research. The talk at Google was presented by Tony Ortega and Albith Delgado. Part of the talk involved the presentation of a live sketch to the assembled Google research staff. At this point we are looking into taking some of the ideas explored in game sketching and implementing them in the google environment. This talk was on the 20th of June. Greg also visited Animal Logic. He sat down with a few Directors to chat about possible co-ops and jobs for ETC students in Australia and abroad. On the 21st of June we visited the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS) to give an overview of the ETC program at Carnegie Mellon. The talk was particularly poignant since AFTRS is currently looking at its interactive entertainment component. On that same day, the game sketch team and the faculty attended a performance of PLAY. PLAY is the live performance of video game music by a symphonic orchestra. This performance of PLAY featured music from Mario, Zelda, and Final Fantasy. |
