2024 Student Handbook
Student handbook for the ETC class that started August 26 2024
We love to hear updates from the ETC alumni, we recently received an email from Freddie Sulit.
Hello. My name is Freddie Sulit (ETC ’11). During my last semester of the ETC I was lucky enough to be accepted into the Production Internship Program at Pixar Animation Studios. I was cast as the Technical Production Intern for The Untitled Pixar Movie About Dinosaurs. Towards the end of the three-month internship, we had our first internal screening of the film. Needless to say, it was a thrilling day, full of laughter and emotion. My face hurt from smiling so much, and my eyes were red from holding back the tears.
Since that day a lot has changed. I was hired as the Sets Department Production Assistant (and eventually promoted to Coordinator) and got to work with some of the most talented technical directors and artists in the world. I did a stint in the Tools Department (Pixar’s internal software support) and got to work with some of the smartest developers in the world. And most recently I became the Animation Department Technical Coordinator and got to work with some of the most amazing animators in the world. All the while, working alongside some of the best Production Staff in the world.
And our movie got a title: The Good Dinosaur.
It’s been almost five years since I joined this project, and when I watch what we’ve created together I still smile and I still get choked up. This Thanksgiving I’m excited that our work will finally be shared with the world. I feel really lucky to have been on this journey with some of the best people, and I’m thankful for the support of my friends and family.
So bring your family and friends to see The Good Dinosaur this weekend. I hope you enjoy the movie. Especially the Sets and the Animation…. And stay for the credits. I’m in there…. Twice.
Thank you.
