Gina graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelors of Science in Engineering for Computer Science. While there, she did extensive work with the Digital Media Design Program which specializes in marrying Communications, Computer Science and Fine Arts. Her projects included working on Augmented Reality (Fusion Tracker and Head Mounted Displays for the US Air Force). As a summer internship, Gina worked for the US Navy creating 3D simulations for missile trajectories to be used as a visualization tool for military brass.
She did an independent study at The University of Otago in New Zealand, where she worked on Face Recognition in order to identify head placement for future vision research. She worked as an archaeological lab technician for the University of Pennsylvania's Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, recreating a historical site by converting 2D images into 3D profiles based on accurate data points.
Gina found time in college to be on the University's track team as a long, triple and high jumper. She was also a member of the Club Basketball team as a shooting guard and played as an outside hitter in volleyball.
Gina decided to pursue a masters at The Entertainment Technology Center in Australia to help mix her skills as a programmer with her 3D design background. She wants to eventually be a technical director of special effects on feature films.
