Student handbook for the ETC class that started August 26 2024
Phuong graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a B.S. in Computer Science and completed her degree with highest honors. Throughout her undergrad years, she participated in game and application development projects in roles such as technical artist, graphic designer, and software developer.
Phuong's most recent project has been the development of a virtual world aimed at supporting software developers. The project is being developed by IBM Research, where she has worked full-time as an intern since the Summer of 2007 (and ending December 2007). Her responsibilities have included implementing a virtual world from scratch, creating 2D and 3D art assets for the virtual world, and designing gameplay mechanics. In the course of this project, Phuong has created and worked with particle systems, chat systems, and networking code.
Upon completion of her Masters, Phuong's objective is to work as a programmer specializing in game play and/or graphics. In addition to her technical skills in Photoshop, Maya, C++, and Java, she has substantial experience working in highly collaborate group environments.
