Week 10

Week 10 began with our client meeting. We shared with them our halves presentation and they seemed pretty satisfied with our progress so far in terms of the research, game design and production process. They were excited to see the digital version of our game prototype next week when we visit them on site. We also had a our weekly faculty meeting with Scott and Tom. They shared with us valuable feedback that we received from faculty for our halves presentation. As Kanishk was to leave for a conference the next day he had his process grade meeting with Scott and Tom on Monday. The others were scheduled to have it on Wednesday.

On Tuesday the team worked on building the design center where the engineers would choose among the parts for the requirement of that project. The team worked hard on focusing on each person’s task and trying to connect the front end  and back end to finish one complete game loop.

Wednesday started with the other members having one on one with Scott and Tom for the process grades. They also worked on make the design center for suspension and engine engineer.

Thursday was working on UI screens for approval of the project manager. This would be used by the project manager when an engineer suggests a particular part for a project. The project manager can either approve or decline that part. The team worked late in the night to push for making everything for the playtest on saturday.

On Friday the game was looking good and almost towards completion. The core functionality was working and all the components came together. The team also prepared the handbook that contained information about each part and also a survey for the playtesters to fill out. The team also made sure the room was clean and ready for the playtest the next day.

The playtest on Saturday went really well where we could see the playtesters actually talking to each other to make a decision. We also recorded some great footage of the playtest and made sure all of them filled out the survey. This was the end to a tiring but successful week for the team. Great job!
