Week 4

This week was exciting as we worked on our first paper prototype. We sat around and played the game

among ourselves. The game started off with the manager of the team being sent a requirement from

one of the clients. The requirements were generic details about automobiles that the client wanted to

have built by the garage. The manager talks to the team about the requirements and how they can build

the automobile. He then talks to the procurement/inventory manager and discusses what parts are

available currently. Then, the two mechanics go about developing the automobile in the given amount

of time and budget.

Each part has different values and attributes to it. Based on these attributes, the team has to build the

automobile and finally is compared against a score sheet. The closer they come to the score sheet, the

better points they get.

The game continues onto build more number of automobiles and there are times when there are one or

more automobiles they have to build in the pipeline. The game is about sharing resources and making

sure the automobile is built in time and optimally.

Next week is quarters and we have a general idea of where the game is heading and we will be

presenting these ideas to the faculty and hope to get good feedback from them. We also have concerns

about how fun the game is and if everyone is involved and given importance in the game. This will be

brought up in the meeting with the faculty next week.
