Week 8

Week 8 started with an adviser meeting where we updated them with our progress so far and plans for halves. The team decided to do a mock presentation with the instructors on Wednesday. We also had a client meeting discussing the details like the UI style of the game and also would be a good approach of the car building visualization and if it is even within the scope of the game. The team then did a quick scrum to plan for the halves presentation which was scheduled to be on Monday the following week. Ashley finished working on the digital version of the UI screen mock up, giving the team a better idea of the art style we were going for. We also had a meeting with John to get some advice on the UI style. The programmers kept working on the network platform set up and Kanishk worked on creating the first draft of the halves presentation.

On Tuesday Ashley finished working on the basic screens for Project Manager and all the other engineers in our game. She then continued to work on each team member’s profile character. We also got in touch the FSAE team at University of Pittsburgh again to discuss about the game content. The other kept working on game development and the presentation for halves.

On Wednesday Kanishk finished the first draft of the presentation and we did a mock run with our instructors. We got some valuable feedback about the flow of the presentation and possible questions that may arise. We made it a point to take that feedback and change our presentation in the following days. The team also met again to go into more detail on the design and flow of the game to make sure everyone was on the same page.

Thursday was spent entirely in heads down work with each member working on their own specific task.

Friday was playtest day were we ran internal playtests with the updated game design. We had some positive and negative feedback and we made a note of it. The team went over the feedback to iterate our game based on the feedback. We continued working on the presentation and the technical demo for the presentation. The team also worked over the weekend to make sure that we were well prepared for our presentation on Monday. Hoping to have a great presentation on Monday.
