Dailies 11/18/2010

What I did:

  • Holy light rays now interpolate between texture frames so they don't look so stuttery.
  • Updated character jump animations with Hugo's new animations.
  • Improved the 1.1 camera split transition.

Dailies 11/17/2010

What I did:

  • Fixed zoom, character attractors, and end gesture puzzles in 2.1
  • Finessed a bunch of gesture puzzles throughout the game.
  • Ending podiums in 5.1 now descend into the ground when both players have reached them.
  • Added paintbrush cursor to draw planes.
  • Pistons now play a hum sound when revealed.
  • Added the all-important 8-bit mode!!

What I plan to do:

  • Misc fixes in prep for softs.

Dailies 11/16/2010

What I did:

  • Last night before leaving we realized that networked multiplayer no longer worked. I found a forum post where someone had a problem with video textures in the webplayer giving the same error message I got and making networked multiplayer no longer work. Turns out we had the same issue, so I took out the video textures (used for torches) and replaced them with texture sequences.
  • Playtesting!

What I plan to do:

  • Fix zooming at gesture puzzles.
  • A whole bunch of other misc fixes.

Dailies 11/15/2010

What I did:

  • Clearing the draw planes in 5.2 is now networked properly.
  • Fixed a few character zooming glitches.
  • Zoomout is now forced at a couple of places where buttons control moving platforms.
  • Added a small black bar between the two screens.
  • Fixed the bug where some torches wouldn't light.
  • Fixed a footstep audio bug.
  • Swapped the colors painted by the characters onto the draw planes in 5.2.
  • Updated quality settings so lights look good using Forward rendering. Webplayer version now also has shadows.
  • Can use ctrl in addition to shift to puppeteer characters. (Ctrl-click on macs doesn't seem to be detected in Unity as right-click, so we fake it now.)
  • In level 2.1, players are now forced to zoom into head puzzles.

What I plan to do:

  • Playtest!

Dailies 11/12/2010 & 11/14/2010

What I did:

  • Added head highlight on mouse over and head blink when standing in front of a head look or head tilt puzzle.
  • Signifier glows on doors now stay on until the door shuts behind the player.
  • Fixed bug where podiums and the invisibility overlay were shown when dead.
  • On call puzzles with arms held up, you now have to raise arms before calling.
  • Added piston sound effects.

What I plan to do:

  • Changes to invisibility, zoom, and other things for Tuesday's playtest.

Dailies 11/10/2010

What I did:

  • Fixed zooming with camera views, and made camera views a bit smoother as well.
  • Added normal mapping to podiums.
  • Added ability to adjust intensity of light based on character position.
  • Updated sand character prefab with new model and textures.
  • Added ability to toggle lights per-camera.
  • Fixed draw planes in 5.2 so they now always render over the background.
  • A bunch of fixes in prep for tomorrow's playtests.

What I plan to do:

  • Lots of playtesting!

Dailies 11/9/2010

What I did:

  • Emotion state can now be set back to neutral by clicking the currently-active button.
  • Emotion state buttons now fade out when puppeteering.
  • Removed right click icons when right-clicking.
  • Invisible platforms now nicely fade in and out.
  • Hand clapping sort of works.
  • Added call and head tilt triggers.
  • Added random interval triggers for things like environmental sound effects.
  • Fixed a few bugs.
  • Character arms now don't intersect so bad when mirroring.

What I plan to do:

  • Light intensity based on character position.
  • Cleanup in prep for Thursday's playtests.

Dailies 11/8/2010

What I did:

  • Playtesting!
  • Fixed head tilt to now use the correct joint.
  • Added light intensity actions so that lighting levels can be controled by triggers.
  • Updated sand character with Hugo's new rig and animations.
  • Fixed bug where facial emotion textures were messed up when the character is seen as the monster.
  • Fixed positions of emotion buttons when screen is not split.
  • Removed box pulling.

What I plan to do:

  • More work on emotions and emotion animations.
  • Call and head tilt triggers.
