CMU Profile: www.cmu.edu/me/people/antaki.html
As CMU’s Biomedical Engineering Department until this year was housed in the same building as the Entertainment Technology Center, Prof. Antaki was able to witness how the ETC students challenged themselves and went into new territory using entertainment technology. He was impressed by how they not only applied their skills to fun projects, but also to ideas and research that dealt with serious topics.
Recognizing the benefits of having work produced by these students, Prof. Antaki came to the ETC for help with his work on the development and research of a non-biased decision aid that would educate senior citizens with end-stage heart failure about the LVAD.
