Meeting with Seema Patel of Interbots

Today we met with Seema to talk about a bunch of things—our project, Quasi, robots in general, and getting girls excited about STEM (science, technology, math, & engineering) fields. She was wonderfully informative and encouraging, and after she left we had our best brainstorming session yet.

Meeting with Emily Hamner & Tom Lauwers of Robot Diaries

We had a wonderful discussion with Tom Lauwers and Emily Hamner about getting girls engaged with robotics. Their Robot Diaries program is aimed at middle school girls and uses robots as a means for exploration and self-expression. Hearing about their experiences developing the Robot Diaries curriculum through direct interaction with their target audience has given us some helpful ideas about how to approach our own project.
