Week 8 Newsletter

This week, we are enriching our gameplay by implementing more features and adding two different types of ghosts. We also recorded more temporary voice over lines and put them in the experience.

Right now, we have three different types of ghosts.

  • White ghost.
    • Classic white ghost covered with white blanket.
    • Fly towards the player until the player looks at it
    • The player’s view will become red when the ghost is too near
  • Bats
    • Bats appear in front of the spells
    • Bats block the view of the player
    • Bats will fly toward the player when the player is near
  • Spiders
    • Spiders appear on the ceiling
    • Spiders will drop down to player’s eye level when the player is near
    • Spiders will spit web to player’s view and then fall to the floor and run away

Beside the ghosts, we also changed the spell system about what spells we are going to use. We have to check if HoloLens can correctly recognize all the spells that we want to use. We also want to make sure that the spells are not too well known so that the player will feel less realistic.
