This week the team finished the development phase of our product: the sound is in, the full storyline is in, puzzles are in.
Here is a complete description of our project.
Act 1 Tutorial + Story
You are a thirsty traveler who has just arrived at a mysterious desert town. Strangely, the town has an unbearable stench. Before you find out what’s going on, you need to get some water first. You will meet a general store owner and his son.
Act 2 Hot Sauce Puzzle
In this act, you will need to get some special hot sauce.
Recap: You want to find out about what’s going on from the mayor. However, according to the general store shopkeeper, the mayor has locked himself up and refuses to see anyone, unless you bring him his favorite hot sauce. The only bottle of hot sauce left in town is at Mrs. Chilirosa’s place. Now you are in front of Mrs. Chilirosa’s house.
Act 3 Cowplant Puzzle
In this act, you will examine a dangerous plant and find ways to save a character.
Recap: The mayor has locked himself up and refuses to see anyone, unless you bring him his favorite hot sauce. You successfully got the hot sauce from the previous act. Now you are in front of the mayor’s office.
Act 4 Leading Flower Puzzle
In this act, you will use a singing flower to go through a maze.
Recap: You decide to help the town to find citrine, a key ingredient of the magic potion, in a distant oasis. In previous acts, you saved a seed trader from a poisonous plant. He decided to give you a leading flower in return so you can go through the maze in that guarded oasis. You are at the seed trader’s tent and he will show you have to go through the maze.
Act 5 Escape the Lab Puzzle
In this act, you will need to escape from the alchemist’s lab.
Recap: In previous acts, you saved a seed trader from a poisonous plant, and he helped you to go through a maze. Now you are inside the oasis. You encounter the alchemist. However, she locks you up for some reason. You have to escape from her lab.
Next week, we will have soft opening inside Electronic Arts and we will conduct playtests with our guests.
