Locanimals Quest: Week Three

With our first two weeks of planning and ideating out of the way, now the semester begins in terms of creating the systems we need.

Christian and Phil focused mainly on the battle system, creating a bevy of mix-and-match battle components that we can use to create new moves. We’re excited about what this move system could entail, as it enables a great deal more freedom than the previous system did.

Jon worked on thinking through our quest system structure, outlining the different features and needs we’d want from the system. He has finished onboarding and getting accustomed to iOS development and will begin coding in the next week. Christian will help collaborate with Jon and help him adapt to our current work.

While this has been happening, John focused on refining the two Andy Warhol concepts and submitted them to our client. We are now waiting to hear back on the concepts! In addition, John continued to attempt making concepts for a “Billy Name” Locanimal but continued to run into walls.

Dani trucked forward, iterating on UI layouts for the Quest system and also began experimenting with a 3D background of the bullpen.

And as all this was going on, Colleen and John stumbled through our first development blog, which is currently being edited and prepped for posting on social media.

So, while big decisions weren’t being made this week, we’re making the first steps of progress and should have some good stuff to show by Quarters.
