Newsletter Week 3

Week 3 (1/27-1/31)

Previous Week

Last week the team decided the implementation technology as Flash and PHP in accordance with the client’s needs and suggestions. Additionally, we discussed the general idea for the application’s concept and content and received approval from the client. For the remainder of the week, the programmers focused on familiarizing themselves with the technology, while the artists continued to work on art for branding, and began on assets that would be needed based on the project’s direction. Additionally, the programmers began establishing the back-end framework and developing some proof of concepts.

Week Overview

This week the team received helpful feedback on the client’s goals for specific interactions in the application and began conceptualizing interactions and experiences that could meet those goals, as well as continuing to work on parts of the application’s framework.

Progress

The team discussed specific interaction ideas with the client and received helpful feedback on the direction the client wanted for the application as well as some of the educational goals for the application. Based on this feedback and desired categories the client provided, we reexamined the client’s goals and potentially related objectives and began developing new specific concepts and interactions to pitch to the client the following work. The team divided the content in the existing application and analyzed how interactions could be developed to correspond to the existing questions and content.

Prospect

The team developed three broad categories for the direction of the application and compiled numerous types of interactions that could accomplish the client’s goals and provide the users a rewarding experience. We plan to develop these categories into in depth concepts and pitch them to the client by the middle of the week. We also plan to continue implementing the elements of the code and framework that are not content specific in order to speed production time.
