This week we finally had a finalized location as to where our kiosk location will be. The 3rd floor alcove where we’ll get a lot of space to decorate the environment around the kiosk. The first thing we came up with was the star trek theme, so we looked into a lot of sci-fi looking telecommunication systems in a few Hollywood movies.

However, the problem with this theme is that unless you’re a close friend of Randy, you wouldn’t know why the star trek theme is placed in as a theme. Then we looked into a general theme, sort of a walking down the memory lane idea where you can see things that relate to Randy. And people who have stories related to Randy can add on their little stories onto the wall over time even after the project is done. We dig into the archive looking for art pieces that Randy mentioned in his last lecture about the painting in his room, and these are the amazing photos we found:

We got quite a list of artwork of Randy’s from the archive and we plan on using the artwork as part of the wall art that will go on the walls. We think this really help us to fulfill the theme of memory lane.

Next week the team will be heading to GDC. This means that our schedule will be on hold for a week and we plan on using spring break to get back on schedule.

The remaining teammates who are staying in Pittsburgh for next week will be working on the website concept look UI and the kiosk design along with the entire theme of the alcove.
