ANNOUNCER (VO)
Carnegie Mellon University and Shadyside Hospital are joining hands to make Pittsburgh a better place to live. CMU robotic technologies are being utilized to advance the current state of medical care. Doctors can now perform incredibly accurate hip replacement surgeries. Visualization research enables surgeons to see exactly where a patient's tumor resides before the doctor even puts on the gloves. Patient care has risen to new levels through the service of nursebots like Pearl. These autonomous mobile robots are able to talk to patients, remind them when to take their medicine, and alert nurses of any potential danger using wireless messaging. The Carnegie Mellon Robotics Institute and the doctors and staff at Shadyside Hospital are providing a safer haven for you and your family. For there is no greater gift we can give, than the gift of life.
