Project Spearhead is  a graduate level student pitch project of the Entertainment Technology Center of Carnegie Mellon University.

We are a research project that focuses on working with the Oculus Rift , the first consumer priced virtual reality head-mounted display.

Our mission is to explore the affordances of the Oculus Rift to the greatest extent possible and create new and innovative experience from the knowledge we gain. With the guidance of our advisors, Ruth Comley and Scott Stevens, we will create a series of 20 deliverables that range from test to prototypes. The first half of our project will focus on conducting tests in order to learn about the abilities of the Oculus Rift and test hypothesis regarding its usability in a game design context. While the second half will focus on utilizing knowledge gained from tests to inform our prototype mechanics.

By the end of the semester will will collaborate with the Entertainment Technology Center to create an Oculus Rift Demo Exhibition, with the goal of sharing and promoting the knowledge we gained from our time with the Oculus Rift.
