Team Vue

Vue is a team of 6 students at Carnegie Mellon’s Entertainment Technology Center working to create a dynamic mobile gaming application for the 21st century. For centuries, people have always loved watching speactacles and major sports events, but as times and trends change, it has become apparent that millenials are more interested in participating as a viewer.

Vue is looking to explore how to use emerging technologies and innovative mechanics to make the viewing experience more engaging and fill a specific emotional need. While watching a video of someone playing already drives a connection with family and friends, we’re looking to explore how to foster meaningful interaction between viewers and players.

Our work this semester will involve in researching what millenials look for in a game, as well as how to incentivize interaction with real world friends. In doing so we are designing an experience that’s both fun to play and motivates a player to engage in it enthusiastically.
