Final Presentations – Fall 2015

Final Presentations were on Wednesday, December 16th. The teams presented to 38 guests, including 15 ETC alums who joined us for the event representing seven or eight different companies. And thank you again to Electronic Arts and all the people in UR and the OCCO who supported us all semester.

Half Presentations – Fall 2015

On Tuesday we had our Half Presentations. The students presented to 18 guests, and then did a combination of hands-on demos and playtests in EA’s gameroom.

Quarter Walkarounds

Mid-week number five, and it’s time to show some early prototypes. We hosted an open house in our space at EA and invited EA’ers from the OCCO, UR and a myriad of projects to come up during lunch to meet the teams and try out their projects. About 18 people visited – here’s a couple videos to give a sense of the experience, starting with a first-person visit with each team:

Visit from Anthony Daniels

Our good friend Anthony Daniels spent the day with us. After our Monday morning all-hands meeting, Anthony shared a bit about Episode VII (sorry – no secrets or spoilers were revealed) and opened the floor for a discussion about acting, teaching, and saying yes to every opportunity. After lunch he visited each team, playing their early prototypes and providing ideas and input to make them better.

Gotan – Team Introduction

Gotan’s goal is to create a mixed reality experience using the Google Project Tango tablets on a head mounted display to create a new reality using our physical world. They want users to be aware of the real world space and other people in it. Users should feel safe and comfortable moving through this area while able to interact with virtual objects. The final application will offer unique experiences each playthrough.
