May 7th was our final day of the semester, spent mostly with some final clean up of our space at EA, exit interviews and a farewell lunch. Thanks to all 20 of you who spent your winter and spring with us – great projects, great students.

Spring 2010 Project: Mirage
Wednesday, January 13th, 2010 posted by janstecProject Mirage is a semester-long project involving development of a new and innovative platform/interface as an entry to the International Virtual Reality Contest (IVRC), a Japanese-based competition held collaboratively with Laval Virtual in France.
Our goal is to develop a projection table that truly displays in three-dimensions and is viewable from all sides. Utilizing recent innovations in fog screen technology, we plan to make an interactive display that gives the same experience for multiple guests and could perhaps even inspire the term “hologram.”
Our inspiration comes from many films and television shows like Star Wars and Star Trek, which often utilized holographic technology such as R2D2′s display unit and the U.S.S. Enterprise’s holodeck.
