Spring 2010 Quarter Presentations
Thursday, February 4th, 2010 posted by carlCongratulations to all five teams for doing a great job on the Quarter Presentations. Our audience was made up primarily of ETC Alums who work at Electronic Arts, along with a few key EA movers and shakers – which in addition to all out students made for a nice size audience for the first round of presentations.

Spring 2010 Project: PlayOnSocial
Wednesday, January 13th, 2010 posted by nadiaPlayOnSocial is a client based project resulting from the collaboration between the Entertainment Technology Center and the Next Human Network (NHN) Corporation of Korea.
NHN Corporation is the home of 2 of the most popular portals in Korea, Naver a search portal comparable to Google and Hangame, an online game portal. Their focus as a company is to make people enjoy their lives, so they wish to experiment in the social network gaming market in order to broaden their range of entertainment offered online in Korea.
Our goal this semester is to design and create an online game prototype to be set in social networks chosen by NHN in the future.
We have started week 5 of the semester and already have been implementing our game idea in place and outlined the content we want to deliver at the end of the semester. We are making use of the Facebook API to launch our application and take advantage of the huge database of users as potential playtesters for social interactions within the network. Also we are making it portable so that our client can deploy the game in a social network of their choosing.
Our next step is to develop a playable version of our game to be deployed by the middle of the semester at our Half Semester Presentations.
Feel free to check our progress via the ETC-SV Blog or via our Website.
Cheerio!
-Nadia
