Class of 2001

Rebecca Crivella
MET, Entertainment Technology, Carnegie Mellon, 2001
BS, Information and Decision Systems, Carnegie Mellon University, 1999
Internship/Summer 2000: Z.com
Internship/Summer 2001: Walt Disney Imagineering

Rebecca is currently embarking on new adventures. Her first stop is Switzerland where she will be looking into game development and VR research positions. Rebecca will always hold the ETC and the passionate, borderline crazy people she met there close to her heart. Here's to making fun...

Mauro Fiore
MET, Entertainment Technology, Carnegie Mellon, 2001
BS, Computer Science, Carnegie Mellon, 1999

Mauro has a Bachelors degree in Computer Science with a minor in Art from Carnegie Mellon University. His creative interests are rooted in photography and film, but he has recently experimented with sculptures and robotic installations. Mauro is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Entertainment Technology in hopes of utilizing new mediums to critique and influence common social paradigms. When not questioning universal structures, Mauro can be found re-arranging furniture and frolicking with his new kitty, "Nintendo".

Clifton Forlines
MHCI, Human Computer Interaction, Carnegie Mellon, 2001
MET, Entertainment Technology, Carnegie Mellon, 2001
BFA, Industrial Design, Carnegie Mellon , 1999

Cliff Forlines has traded Steeltown for Beantown - in other words, he now lives in Boston with his wife Kate. He currently performs contract work for a variety of folks (including his alma mater) but he has yet to find a project as fun as the ones he worked on at the ETC.

David Hirschfield
MET, Entertainment Technology, Carnegie Mellon, 2001
BS, Computer Science, Carnegie Mellon, 1999

Dave graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in the Spring of 1999 with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a two-door Chevette, and a very big hole in his wallet. David Hirschfield spends most of his time cutting large pieces of yellow construction paper into smaller pieces of yellow construction paper while muttering the lyrics to every song by "Frankie Goes To Hollywood". When he isn't catatonic with fear, David tries to work on projects for the Goddard Institute for Space Studies. His interests include programming computers, programming VCRs, programming the coffee-machine and bending spoons with his mind. One day David would love to rule the entire universe from a throne made of anodized aluminum, but for now he will have to make do with being a Master of Entertainment Technology student.

Bridget Johnson
MET, Entertainment Technology, Carnegie Mellon, 2001
MS, Printing Technology, Rochester Institute of Technology, 1987
BFA, Professional Photo Illustration, Rochester Institute of Technology, 1980

Bridget has a background in fine art photography and printing. Her early work in the field of type design whetted her taste for experimental typography and interaction design. Currently, her research efforts are focused on designing and integrating interactive and dynamic personal communication environments within entertainment and work environments. Bridget's work has been influenced by her interests in landscape architecture, textiles and creative writing. When Bridget is not thinking about space, place and communication she can be found designing nuclear powered home appliances (irons, vacuum cleaners, etc.) with her son Julian or playing Beauty Parlor with her daughter Olivia.

Ian McCullough
MET, Entertainment Technology, Carnegie Mellon, 2001
BFA, Drama, Carnegie Mellon, 2000

After five years at Carnegie Mellon University, where he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drama and his Master of Entertainment Technology, Ian McCullough abruptly fled the country and is believed to have joined forces with criminal mastermind Carmen Sandiego. Interpol reports recent sightings of Mr. McCullough in twenty different countries spread over three continents. He is sought for questioning in connection with the recent disappearances of the Eiffel Tower, the Colloseum, and the Nile River. According to his dossier, he has written interactive content for Microsoft Research, served as a production assistant at Z.com, and developed and produced Synthetic Interviews for Grand Illusion Studios.

Authorities have focused their worldwide manhunt efforts on Los Angeles, CA, where Ian was reputedly consulting for USC's Instutute for Creative Technology.

Wil Paredes
MET, Entertainment Technology, Carnegie Mellon, 2001
BS, Computer Science, Carnegie Mellon, 2001

Will has played video games in order to goof off for years, and is quite smug about the fact that all this experience will be useful for something. In addition to all those video games, Wil plays piano and violin, watches movies, listens to music, and...oh yeah, works on those degrees., a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering, and a Master of Entertainment Technology. He has played video games in order to goof off for years, and is quite smug about the fact that all this experience will be useful for something. In addition to all those video games, Wil plays piano and violin, watches movies, listens to music.

Jay Woodward
MET, Entertainment Technology, Carnegie Mellon, 2001

Jay has been a gamer and aspirant game designer for the past fifteen years, ever since his first introduction to adventure games on his family's PCjr, when he found himself fascinated by the idea of entering and influencing the telling of a tale. Since then, Jay has aimed his studies toward a career in game design. Jay graduated from Carnegie Mellon in 1999, with a B.S. in Computer Science and a minor in English (with a concentration in creative writing). When he wasn't plumbing the algorithmic depths of such funkiness as loop unrolling, continuation syntax, bicubic surfaces or inode-based file systems, he was shaking out his last drops of sanity in the process of creating believable characters and dramatic storylines.
