There are five weeks left for DoReMi Pets’ development. In order to boost up the final development, on Wednesday, the team had a long but very important meeting. We planned out for the rest of the semester based on the “big picture” the team talked in the meeting, about what we want the final product to have, and what are still missing.

Newsletter Week 7: The first external playtest

A large portion of Crescendo Encore’s time this week has been spent on preparing for the first external playtest which is going to happen real soon. We have been implementing visual feedback for hitting without any note coming, for missing a note, and for a good and/or a perfect hit. Other than regular notes, we also have two other types of notes–joint note and tremolo–designed and implemented for our playtest.

Newsletter Week 6: Preparing for the playtest

Crescendo Encore is aiming to conduct the first round of external playtest on Friday of Week 7. The goal is to have two hardware, Timpani and Clarinet, and new music arrangement of Carmen working on XNA. Players will be able to navigate through the menu system from the start to the actual gameplay.

Keeping the primary design objective –“making the game fun and easy”– in mind, Crescendo Encore is fully functioning in every department to get ready for the first external playtest!
