Week 9

This week, we lost 50 – 75% of the week due to rearranging things at each individual’s home. We had the earliest pickup date which helped, but some lost time due to traveling back home, some due to internet connection issues, and some just had difficulty setting up their desktop at home. But we are up and running and we have filled out the helpful sheet that Dave and Heather put together for teams for communication.

We made a channel in our Discord group specifically for daily updates since it’s more difficult to make an announcement to the room now. We began by sharing our current desk setups. It was a fun way to bring that Discord feed to life. There were a lot of cats in our workspaces.

Besides preparing for remote working environments, we also collected feedback from faculties and create a rough schedule for the pipeline in the next halves. Since Photon provides a free server plan for 20 CCU users at the same port, we need to find solutions to extend our app to accommodate at least 40 users to fulfill our workshop scope. Although we are not sure how COVID-19 will affect the form of our workshop, but we all agree a stress test on the stability and re-connect ability of our photon structure could be our next milestone.

Making traction on the plan for the workshop. It is ready to start wireframing n Adobe XD now.

Here is a snippet.

A lot of this organization will fall on the facilitator’s shoulder’s to organize verbally during the workshop, but if we structure pieces that helps a bit.

Due to the work from home policy for Covid-19, we spent most of the week getting equipment from ETC and setting up all hardware and software to work as a team remotely.
