Week 16 Final presenation

This week is our final week for this semester. We had our final presentation on Tuesday, it went on pretty well. We talked about our design, demo, play testing and iteration through the whole semester. During the Q&A session, we had some really good questions from faculties. Here are two questions that I think is interesting.

Q: For Find It, did you break down the device into very small pieces for the training?

A: We didn’t do that in this prototype. In find it, we are focusing on the spatial feeling and structure of the device in a bigger view.

Q: What are the moments that you think can prove your project is engaging?

A: During play testing, we divided our play testers into two groups, the experimental group was using our app and the control group was using the traditional training material. One phenomenon that I think can help prove Mobius Master app is more engaging is that in the control group, people tend to ask us a lot of questions if they don’t know the answer. For example, in find it, if players cannot find the heater, they will look around and try to search for it for a while then ask us where it is if they still can’t find it. On the contrast, in the control group, play testers hardly communicate with us when they review those materials. I think active communication can indicates that the learning experience is engaging.

Before everyone leaves school for holiday, three more faculties Mike, Ralph and Jesse visited us in our project room on Wednesday. They spent around 30 minutes playing and experiencing our final product, and gave us some final feedback. Mike mentioned that we could have done more control play testing. Ralph mentioned that we could change the arrow sign. And Jesse thinks that using physical cards can provide a lot of potentials ways to play games.
