This week we finally had the first meeting with our client. Our client re-stated their needs, which is creating interactive training process to teach technicians how to install, utilize, and maintain some lab instrument. Our client also wants us to help resolve some problems in the current training process, including a limited number of people accessing the training at the same time, how to measure learning effect, the language constraint due to variety of client’s clients bought the lab instruments, and the preservation of training effect in the long run. We all agreed that interviewing technicians who experienced the training, as well as access to the current e-learning solution to get some reference.
In this week, the branding work is proceeding. Our artists made the first three versions of the team logo. The design really follows our project theme and the industry of our client. We picked the theming colors of our project website to fit colors of the logo, it works pretty well.
We are not only waiting for the e-learning access. Some of us are not familiar with training games, so we played some such games developed by Simcoach, trying to figure out the typical pattern of training games, how is it different from entertaining games, and what can be done better to guide the player and to enhance the training effect. The training games we tried include but not limited to Harness Hero and Jobpro.
We also did some research on Merck website about their lab instrument and manufacturing instrument list. We think the future reference of the exact instrument we need to work with would have similar introduction pattern
