5 – Enough Talk

This week, PewPewPew has entered the production phase of our project. After prototyping a massive number of input mechanics and sourcing for the best possible environments to house our game, we have finally decided on our best approaches.

This week we built a demo of our world with actual assets in our environment to show off our progress to visitors at our Quarters Presentation, we completed a good iteration of our input mechanics, of shooting ninja stars and arrows at lovable ninja pigs. While there were still many chinks in our demo, our guests were able to sift through the noise to give us extremely valuable feedback on our core components. We would like to thank all our guests for their time!

Our production phase will be split into five sets of two week sprints. After getting feedback from our guests at quarters, we have decided to end our first sprint just after the first week, to iterate on the components that guests have mentioned. The biggest challenge we face now is finding the best way to give a visual anchor of the Ninja Stars, so that it reflects the input which the guest is performing on the mobile controller.

Next sprint, we aim to polish all our current assets to publishable quality before moving on to develop more of our environment. We would also like to begin creating animated enemies which will challenge players further.
