PewPewPew has made the decision to pursue Ninja Academy as our project for this semester. We have decided that developing Ninja Academy will not only lead to a better user experience, but the research that we will be performing can also contribute to a deeper understanding of shooters on the connected TV platform.

Ninja Academy is a 3D shooter on rails, set in a fictional world where everything is made of 2D paper like material and cute animals such as foxes and pigs are ninja trainees and trainers.  Players will play as a ninja trainee taking their final test before graduation. They will also be given a grade at the end of the test that reflects how well they did on that particular play through.

Players will be able to customize a simple ninja avatar and throw ninja stars from their mobile devices at their television screens. Each successful attack on enemies will knock them out and give players points which will contribute to their ninja’s grade. After completion of each play through, ninja avatars will be honored in a wall of fame so players may flaunt their best scores to friends and family.

Next week, our team begins our pre-production phase where we will prototype concept art and input mechanics to ensure we can bring the best user experience to our future players. We will also be focusing on team branding to facilitate our user testing in the near future. Stay tuned in to see our beautiful concept art next week!
