Week1 – Exploring…

It has been a fresh start this week and we are very excited to move into the ETC-SV campus resided in EA. After touring around the EA campus and meet with Alumni, we set up our room and scheduled for the semester including core hours. We also decided our team name: Prologue.After talking to the ETC faculty, we have a high level idea that it is going to be a discovery project on exploring how to evoke emotions in VR space. There are two directions right now, one is the emotion path and the other is the story arc path. We don’t have a strong preference for now, so we are brainstorming towards both path, finding out what emotion that is common, strong and subtle. We are also referencing a lot interactive stories and environment settings.

Here is a picture of our brainstorming process. Now Everyone on the team is writing a high level design of the his/her own idea and we plan to prototype based on one of them in the next week.

Since we are planning to try out Unreal engine this semester, our programmers are also spending some time researching on engine tutorials. For our artists, since we have decided our team, we began to design the marketing materials.

We’re definitely brainstorming more ideas and up to the challenge.
