Overview

During our first week, the team set up their equipment, met with our clients (the OCCO),  our advisors and our team stationed in Pittsburgh.  We also got underway with the ideation process and began narrowing down our ideas to the 4 we would present to the client.  At the end of the week we discussed our strongest ideas with the team members located in Pittsburgh, and heard the ideas they had outlined.

Production

This week the Goksu and Christian, the team’s two producers, worked with the team to set up the systems for internal communication, using Trello for a digital scrum board, and Google Drive for sharing lightweight files.

After meeting with our OCCO contacts, Goksu reached out to the Pittsburgh producers and opened communication channels with them.  We established a joint organization on Trello so that we can view each other’s status on tasks, and set up times for a weekly meeting between the producers.

Design

This week the whole team contributed to brainstorming game concepts, with the team’s two lead designers, Christian and Jimin, tasked with bringing at least 4 ideas to the team’s internal meeting.  After meeting and discussing all the ideas, the team selected the strongest four and created concept outlines to present to the Pittsburgh team members.

Art

For the first week Lilian focused on starting communication with the artists located in Pittsburgh,  working on branding material, and researching on art styles to use for the project.

Programming

This week Michael began researching developing with Unity on IOS and better learning about our platform.  Julia, who will be helping with the art pipeline and technical art tasks began familiarizing herself with Unity.

Next Steps

Our next steps will be selecting the four ideas we want to develop by the beginning of next week, in order to prepare our brief design documents and pitch for the client.  We are excited to move ahead with our ideas and clearly outline what we have in mind in order to get feedback from our advisors and client.
