Pivot in Design

Week three had us to pivot our design ideas as the hospital visit made us rethink on different aspects of the problem. We had to do even more research on how we could deliver a patient experience to the nurses.
We needed to understand more about how nurses are trained and had scheduled a visit to the S.T.A.R Training Center which would give us more knowledge on the training modules and how our design could enhance the healthcare workers.

S.T.A.R Center

This visit showed us how methodically nurses are trained with high fidelity mannequins. The visit also made us think about how we could incorporate caregiving as part of the module. We had also scheduled interviews with nurses from AHN which could help us give a closer look at why nurses are lacking empathy. We developed our design to be effective to the nurses from the patients perspective, so we decided our two perspectives approach of being a patient and nurse.

We also developed a stake holder map, by which we wanted to know who are all related to our project and who could possibly benefit.
