Week 3

This week, we met with our client, Christian from Verizon and this time we pitched the idea that we had for the experience to them. Generally, the reactions were positive. While he wasn’t in love with any of the aspects particularly, he seemed to like the direction were heading in. In particular, he seemed to be interested in the ideas which would have the experience engaging with the player and the viewers. He also wanted us to think broadly, so as to how will this affect the pre-existing platform that Verizon has which is called Go90.

The other big takeaway was that we needed to settle on a genre of the game. Our game designer Julian was creative enough to come up with a hack-and-slash type of a game which would fully use the power of this experience. We also talked to Christian about the art style and came to a consensus that low-poly art style was really helpful in portraying the game on a smaller screen that would be an Android phone.  We discussed several ideas, and ended up with concrete ideas for the game. We also came up with some less developed idea about the story which would greatly influence the art style.

It’s about that time to begin thinking about Quarters, so are working towards our poster and other branding materials. This weekend will be spent in diving into prototyping and finalizing our half sheet ,logo and poster. Along with that we will also divide up tasks for each individual so that we have a clear understanding about who does what for the next week right before Quarters.
