Week 5 in Flint…

Hi all! Nice to see you again! Here comes the quarter walkaround and Flint is ready for that!

On Monday the team had the advisor meeting and did our quarter presentation as a rehearsal. Jess kindly brought her friend to come listening to our presentation and gave as great feedback, thank you! The quarter went smooth and we received useful feedback on both the experience and the installation. Thank all the faculties for the comments!

On Tuesday the team discussed on the quarter feedback and thought about how to deal with them, finding a good scope and tried to working on more details on the experience.

On Wednesday the team started to research on how blades are really made in the real industry and tried to find some clues on how this should be designed for the students.

On Friday the team sit together and discussed about the outcome from everyone’s research. A lot of the interesting discussions! Next topic to research, based on the learning objectives, will be how to figure out wind pattern based on a give landscape, and the team would work on that on the weekend.

The team would like to do a paper play test as soon as possible. But before that, the team need to figure out more details. This was why the team move towards research rather than start building content immediately. See you next week!

Week 4 in Flint…

Hi all! Nice to see you again! Team Flint kept iterating the ideas and prepared to move towards the quarter in this week.

On Monday the team had the regular advisor meeting and talked about the feedback from the clients. On our afternoon core hours we luckily have Mr. Anthony Daniel came in our room and discussed the project with us. He was really a nice man and really helpful as well!

On Tuesday the team decided to dig into details about the experience as well as the installation, so we could show them to the client and have their feedback. The team had a clear picture from the beginning of the experience to the end of it, as well as how the installation works in each stage of it. The team decided to present to the client on Thursday so we could have one more day working on the feedback before the quarter.

On Wednesday the team made some slight changes on what discussed on Tuesday, and prepared for the presentation.

On Thursday the team first met faculties, namely Mike Christel and Ruth Comley, on our current design. We got useful feedback from Mike on how to test this design in an early stage, and we had valuable information from Ruth different possible way to implement the installation as well as the pros and cons accompanied. In the afternoon we went to EFSD and presented the ideas with the client. We specifically discussed with the teachers and listened to their feedback carefully.

On Friday the team met other faculties, namely Brenda and John on how to improve the experience. Then the team together discussed what to present for the quarter, and rehearsed a lot.

The team were getting to have more and more clear picture on what the client really wants. On the other hand, the team need to quickly figure out all the details and start working on something solid. See you next week!
