The Gaming with Alice for Middle School Education (GAME) team is interested in
having middle school students use the Alice program , developed by
ETC co-founder Randy Pausch, to create games focusing on interactive storytelling.
While teaching students Alice and developing game with them, we also research on girls
and game development since everyone would like to have more female friendly, gender
neutral games: girls themselves, parents, educators, and the game companies.

The International School of the Peninsula (ISTP), an independent, co-educational dual language
school for nursery through eighth grade students. With 25 years of educational achievement,
ISTP is recognized as a leader in bilingual education and offers two 'nursery through fifth
grade' bilingual immersion programs: Chinese-English and French-English.

Yi-Wen Hung

Double Majored in Computer Science and Information Engineering/Transportation and Communication Management Sci
National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan

In elementary school, I had my first taste of computer programming, learning QuickBASIC. I soon became hooked. But what truly inspired me to enter the world of computer game design was when I participated in the World Cyber Games in 2001, playing Half-Life: Counter-Strike in a team of female gamers. In playing online games, I discovered that there were certain problems and weaknesses, and hackers would exploit them, so I began to do research into cheat programs that hackers use to alter online games. This causes games to be dominated by bots, resulting in many players losing interest. Intrigued by so many aspects and problems involving computer gaming, I have decided to continue on to advanced studies of computer game design and 3D graphics. In 1998 I entered National Cheng Kung University, where I double-majored in Computer Science and Information Engineering and Transportation and Communication Management Science to gain an understanding of the behavior of transport systems for applying to game development. The course that captivated me the most was Virtual Reality, which was intimately connected to the world of gaming. In this class I learned API OpenGL, VRML, and C++, applying my skills in creating a 3D hospital and a racing game for my final project. After graduation I began working for Digicell Entertainment, While there I made use of the knowledge I had gained from my studies, supplemented by my own independent research, to solve computer-related problems the company had and come up with new ideas for their games. Many games seemed geared toward what the programmers thought would be cool instead of what would interest the gamer. In addition to gaining additional skills and experience such as network server administration as well as C-Script and UnrealScript programming, this position gave me greater insight into the flaws in game design. I am good at making 3D models, rigging, character animation, and programming. I'd like to code for help rigging and animation easily.

Junction Jeonghyun Bae

BS in Computer Science and Multimedia
Ajou University

Born on Christmas Eve in Seoul, Korea, Jeong-Hyun Bae, also known as Junction, had been making a persistent effort to become an outstanding programmer through various intensive experiences such as distributed applications development at Institute of Advanced Engineering of Korea and a logistics software development for US Bases in Korea while he served as Korean Army Augmentation to the U.S. Army, so called KATUSA soldier.

As a result, he was selected for Samsung Software Membership(SSM), a research and development station supported by Samsung Electronics, job at the company guaranteed a year of activity.

But as Junction spend more and more time in SSM, he realized that he wants to be challenged as a game designer which is his lifetime goal ever since he had played a beautiful European game - Twinsen's Adventure from Adeline with his 386 and also realized his old desire to be an artist that he once dreamed of as an amateur Radiohead tribute band's drummer.

So Junction joined the ETC in order to develop a truly unique experience by entertaining people through the beautiful mixture of technology and art. Let's get started!
