I was born and raised in Vancouver, Washington, across the mighty Columbia river from Portland in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
I grew up playing video games, and as a result I've become absolutely enthralled by this medium as well as curious as to where it will go next.
While doing undergrad at Carnegie Mellon University, I became both very interested in the incredible experimentation going on in the independent game scene and the workings of narrative from the perspective of creative writing. These preoccupations have informed my enthusiasm for game design, with particular emphasis on creating new and novel ways of using game mechanics to influence game narrative and immersion/emotional response from the player.
My other interests include short-form fiction writing, film appreciation, listening to weird music, making really lame jokes with my friends, and reading Wikipedia for untenable amounts of time.
