In week 10, the team prioritized tasks for the rest of the semester, this week we have been accomplishing well in getting more complete game flow into the game. We now have the summary screen which will show players’ individual performance, their rewarding titles, how well the team collaborates, and the accuracy comparison between the current performance and the history record.

Newsletter Week 11: The first playtest with children

By having majority of the art assets implemented, our game, DoReMi Pets, has a more complete look and feel than ever before. Three instruments –Timpani, Clarinet, and French Horn–are already fully functional in the game. Violin’s prototype is finished, and it’s going to be implemented real soon. By the end of next week, Crescendo Encore’s all four instruments should be available for playing the game with.

Playtest with two children

Today we had our first playtest with children. They are 6 year old and 7 year old. Clarinet and french horn seems a bit hard for them, but they surely had a lot of fun with the Timpani. Based on what we learned from the playtest, we are going to make the other three instruments (French Horn, Clarinet and Violin) more friendly to young players.

Newsletter Week 10: Time for the final vision

There are five weeks left for DoReMi Pets’ development. In order to boost up the final development, on Wednesday, the team had a long but very important meeting. We planned out for the rest of the semester based on the “big picture” the team talked in the meeting, about what we want the final product to have, and what are still missing.
