Eric Kron3D Artist
eric_kron

As an artist at the ETC, I continue to employ and improve my 3D modeling and animation skills. Inspired by series like Halo and Elder Scrolls most interested in creating worlds that liberate players by allowing them to impose their will rather than force them to follow a path laid out by a designer. Outside the ETC, I work at a startup aerodynamics company, designing and patenting fuel saving devices for long haul trucks.

SHIELDS John

Hey there! I am John Shields, a game designer.

I am currently learning a whole lot in the Master’s Program over at Entertainment Technology Center. I have a background in Psychology from Carnegie Mellon.

I love designing and playing multiplayer experiences be it cooperative, competitive, symmetrical or asymmetrical gameplay. You can usually catch me reading design blogs and Gamasutra articles, giving feedback to my peers on the designs of their games, watching conference videos, or designing paper prototypes of mechanics and systems in my spare time. I also really enjoy playing racquet-based sports!

If you ever want to chat about something be it a design direction a certain game went or some crazy game mechanic/system, feel free to shoot me an email over at megashields@gmail.com!

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope to chat with you again real soon!

One Comment:

  1. Have you considered the possibility of a VR helmet based game that would allow slotcar enthusiasts to use their standard three connection hook-up and Russkit/Parma style trigger finger controller to step into a virtual USRA Group 7 level of competition? Those of us who have raced at that level and owned raceways have been waiting for computers/video displays to catch up. I can’t think of a better group than you at CMU, to tell us if and when this might be possible.
