Who are we? What are we doing?

GASx3 is working with TATRC (Telemedicine & Advanced Technology Research Center) to create a educational simulation game that simulates a PDS (Personnel Decontamination station). This game simplifies and simulates the field training exercise conducted by USAMRICD (US Army Medical Research and Materiel Command) Chemical Casualty Care Division to teach soldiers about the flow of patients in the PDS through treatment and triage.

The PDS offers urgent Medical care and triage to chemical casualties in the battlefield. Players will need to decide how the patients are treated at the station by assigning them a treatment method and a priority. They do this by assigning casualties one of three treatment methods based on their health and diagnosis. Players would also need to improve the station’s facilities by efficiently utilizing manpower and resources. This will result in the expansion of treatment stations which enable more patients to be treated simultaneously.

The aim of our game is to educate chemical medics who cannot attend the actual field training course by providing them a simulation that can be accessed from a website. By doing so, medics will get a better idea of how the PDS works which will help save lives on the battlefield.

Week 10 was GDC week. We were all there so there isn’t anything we’ve done for our project.

Art has arrived!!!!

We’ve managed to implement the art assets we created.

We struggled to make the rendering look smooth and realistic and still, we are improving it.

But even though, it looks great!

Many functions has been added too. Such as the mini map navigation, disaster system, and types of soldiers.

Though we still have a challenge of implementing the configuration XML file, the future plans seems to be quite promising.

UI in the Prototype!

Even though most of the game is using place holders, it is now much easier to understand compared to the older version full of boxes and numbers.

It may look simple and dull, BUT! It has a large portion of the functions working!

We will keep developing the functions and in the near future we will implement the actual artwork we produced!
