Newsletter #5 – Character, Design, Branding, Oh my!

Hello again from team Kotodama Fruit Juice!

We’re hard at work preparing for our 1/4s presentation next Friday, and part of that is making firm decisions about the direction of the project and having a few avenues available for feedback during the review sessions.

Our project has been initially difficult to explain and comprehend, so our focus in the next week is drilling it down to the core interactions and having a simple, one sentence explanation for each potential design, so that we can spend less time explaining our world and more time listening to possibilities.

Also this week we finished all of our team branding and can now turn all of our attention to the project itself. Without further ado, here’s our poster:

We have to be careful not to fall into the quirky trap, but we’re firm believers in generating interest in a project, and this poster does that pretty well for us.

Meanwhile, Momo created our team photograph:

Team photoWhich just turned out amazing. No one recognizes Allen. That’s because Heather kidnapped him for ransom to Dilara, while detectives Arseniy and Momo watch in horror.

That’s one possible story, anyway.

Next week will be spent preparing for 1/4s and focusing our process. Momo will complete the modelling of our main character, and then it will be sent off for rigging so that it can be used to generate kick ass animations.

Soon we’ll be revealing more about our “character” — but for now, rest assured, “it” isn’t a Zombie, and “it” isn’t a Skeleton. “It” has a name. Don’t be so quick to judge.
