Week 9 Newsletter

This week, we are planning for the half-semester presentation. Basically we did three things. We made a set up tool to make sure the play space can be correctly scanned and everything can be placed on the right position. We made the white ghost playable and had a  test scene running on Windows PC to accelerate the pipeline. Meanwhile, we also created a deck of slides and rehearsed several times to make sure the presentation is fluent.

Right now, the setup tool is used for scanning the room, putting objects in the room, and setting up navigation map in the play space. By scanning the room, we created an entire mesh that wraps the players space. And we are using it for objects occlusion and physical interactions. After putting objects in the room and store the locations, we can make sure that the objects will spawn in the correct location during the game. We are also putting navigation points on the floor for the ghosts to find the right path to the player.

We separated our presentation into 4 parts so that each team member can have their own part to create and present. We will present it to our faculties and make changed according to the feedbacks before the real presentation.
