Art

Whether we should have animal or human characters should be decided later, once we’ve nailed the core mechanic of the game.

Game Design

  • for the build phase, have a fixed amount of resources to build the fort, and make snowballs out of the leftovers
  • throwing snowballs and having them stick snow to the face of the other player
  • throwing vs. ducking mechanic, based on the orientation of the mobile device
    • device lying flat: building/throwing phase
    • device picked up: ducking phase
  • have the players’ faces photographed before the game starts, and superimpose the pictures onto the avatar heads
    • maybe allow players to upload their own photographs
  • when throwing a snowball at a snow fort brick, have the snow from the fort return as an asset when it falls back apart into snow

Other

We should speak with Jon Salwitz about the game he made, “Rampart”.

  • game has two phases: build phase, then fighting phase
  • having a fixed amount of a resource
