Mission

Inspired by the rich visual style of German Expressionism, SturmundDrang’s (SuD) original mission was to adapt the 1920 classic silent film, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, into a CG-composited short film, The Somnambulist, using the ETC’s new Organic Motion System (OMS).

While this deliverable has since been changed to a visual effects reel showcasing the compositing process, SuD’s second deliverable of establishing an Organic Motion Wiki page remains intact, thus combining necessary documentation of a new technology with the art of film.
