Week 3 Newsletter — Spring 2014

We started this week knowing we needed to get a jump onto a lot of the sections we’d be looking at within our game. We defined our two games a lot more. We needed to create a flow so everyone could start looking into his/her own roles in the up and coming workload.

The team started by outlining each idea. Our designers then began looking at the more finite elements of the game. Our game designer created a lot of really great diagrams to give impressions in our weekly advisor meeting. Having expanded our game more the advisors really enjoyed the flows and mechanics that were close to finalized.

The programmers knew they had to start looking into the backend as well of frontend of our game. We requested a plugin or two and are currently waiting on those. Meanwhile some programmers have started looking at real time networking. To have several people represented on one phone on a map is not an easy task. A lot of new programming needs to be learnt and widespread content to be looked at.

Our user interface designer has begun looking into various styles. Pulling together reference will be important to use when our idea is more formalized. We hope to tell you more of where we are going next week! We’ll be moving forward with trying to get a lot of things set up for prototyping our ideas. Speak to you soon!
