Week 11 Newsletter

Week 11 (3/31 ~ 4/4)

Week 11 was Surprising

This week after Halves week, we were able to get back on track. We first set up our feature lists and planning out for the rest of the weeks until our softs. Since we knew that we were going to have a big play test on Saturday we wanted to make sure we tested out all of the potential features we thought of.

On Tuesday we were able to receive our platform from our client. Although we wanted to jump right into the integration, we decided to not shift our schedule and keep it on hold for the next sprint.

On Wednesday during our client meeting, we shared our vision of the UX flow and we were able to figure out our flow more in detail; the limits, and its capabilities that changed our task order.

During this week our 2D artist Fiona drew a detailed concept art using specific color palette which gave the team, our advisor, and our client a clear view of our goal.

On Saturday we conducted a playtest at the school inviting guests from the community. We were able to test all of the potential features and we will be adjusting our footing for the coming sprint next week.

CHALLENGES:

This week although we were able to create a satisfying schedule for the coming weeks, we were challenged with team member’s personal agenda; pitch presentations and job/internship interviews. Although we had these side tracks, we were able to accomplish the necessary tasks before the playtest and we were able to test all the required features.

NEXT WEEK/SPRINT:

Next week we will be opening the platform box and tackling to integrate it with our game. We are also planning on conducting another playtest at the Carnegie Science Center in hopes to test the controls. As the week flows, we plan to make our game more visually pleasing and closer to the goal we set at the beginning of this semester. Go Fenix!
