Week 4

Hello!

Without further due, we present you with our additional 4 prototypes!

  1. Cozmo Focus Enforcer

     – This is an application that lets Cozmo supervise your concentration on some jobs on desk, such as reading a book. Cozmo assumes your face wouldn’t move a lot if you fully concentrated on the job. He gets increasingly angry and reacts every time your face moved a large distance, meaning you’re not concentrating.

  2. Cozmo Coaster

Using Cozmo’s accelerometer, Cozmo will detect when he’s in the air and will give positive feedback as you fly him. Once the flight is finished and Cozmo lands on the ground, he becomes “dizzy” for flying and takes some time to adapt himself.

  1. Cozmo Exercise Buddy

Using speech recognition and Cozmo’s lifting action, you can ask him to exercise. Our mischievous Cozmo will throw tantrums at first, but he will finally agree and start. He will also respond as you ask him to exercise in different by saying “faster” or “slower”. Eventually Cozmo gets tired and falls asleep after exercising for a bit too long.

  1. Shape Match Battle

Using the cubes, up to 2 players (with 2 Cozmos) can play the game! The goal is to create the shapes that appear on Cozmo’s screen. It is a multi-player competitive game and the first person to match all the shapes wins the game. The game can be played by kids to improve hand-eye coordination. This is our 1st prototype with multi-Cozmo experience.

(We are refining our prototypes for ¼ walk-through and will upload the video after this Wed!)

This week finished our ¼ presentation content for next week. As a group, we determined our core values for our project, which are innovation, prototype, and gameplay. We will be presenting our vision, schedule, working prototypes, and etc to our faculty next Wednesday.

  • Concept chart

One of the things that we began implementing is “concept chart”. For each prototype, information about technology/mechanic used and their application is put together as a visual chart. This is so that we can look at the charts and add on more application ideas for each prototype.

  • Branding material

We also finalized our branding material! Whoo hoo! These are the final version of our poster!

  • COZMO WORLD

One idea that was brought up by Brenda and was grown during our advisor meeting 2/9, is COZMO WORLD! That is, simply making different spaces where Cozmo can differentiate through custom markers and can have different interactions within each parts of the world. For example, our room can be divided into different parts and each part can be dinosaur park, magical world, farm, outer space, and etc. Each space could be filled with corresponding objects and characters in the space and with the consumers.

However, this idea of having a “world” for Cozmo is creating 3rd party hardware, which wasn’t the direction our client wanted. So how can this cool idea be a beneficial to our client?

  • EA Visit

EA visited our project on Friday 2/10! We gave them an overview of our project and showed off our working prototypes and got feedback from them.
