2024 Student Handbook
Student handbook for the ETC class that started August 26 2024
Jerry Fu graduated with honors from the Computational Media program of the Georgia Institute of Technology. There he learned how to design games and programs using well-known paradigms such as paper play-testing and Scrum. For the liberal arts half of his major he concentrated in film, taking classes about cinema along with visual story telling and graphic design.
Growing up, however, Jerry always held a great interest in animation. During his undergraduate studies at Georgia Tech, he was given the opportunity to work for a year abroad in Japan doing 3D modeling and animation. This experience sowed the seeds and nurtured his interest in computer animation, eventually letting it grow into an overwhelming, un-ignorable monster in his mind. After that, he knew he had no other way to go.
Jerry now studies at Carnegie Mellon University's Entertainment Technology Center to learn more about both techniques of animation as well as the in's and out's of the industry. He hopes that this will help enable him bring dreams to life using the magic of animation. (And get a job, too :P )
