We are at a truly monumental time. Technologies such as augmented reality, artificial intelligence, voice recognition and natural language processing have become sufficiently robust, mature and accessible for general use. These technologies can be used in concert to create virtual characters that are engaging and believable.
Against this backdrop, we envision a character named Charlie who lives in the HoloLens, an augmented reality headset by Microsoft. Charlie is fun and wacky, loves taking pictures and is a social media addict. Charlie even has a Facebook Page of his own! You can interact with Charlie using natural speech – and he will hopefully surprise you in many ways.
