Real Empathy is a team at Carnegie Mellon University’s Entertainment Technology Center focused on enhancing medical training experience via Virtual Reality(VR) and Artificial Intelligence(AI). Nowadays, medical schools seek to bring student engagement and create genuine connections between healthcare providers and patients. Fulfilling the desire, Real Empathy wants to prove that VR technology and 360 Video can be the best solution to represent training scenarios since it’s extendable, easy-accessible, and high-fidelity.
Our jobs are defining scenarios, developing conversation trees, filming, editing, and building connection between training students and virtual patients. Ultimately, we aim to leverage the training experience for healthcare and create magical moments for real empathy.
Project Instructors: Ricardo Washington, Ruth Comley
